ABOUT
nila

Nīlā is a twenty-first century poet of devotion, sensuality, and the Divine Feminine.

Her work unfolds from lived experience - from breath, body, love, longing, and devotion,
and from her ordinary life, where the sacred is not separate, but moves with her through every moment she lives.

I write because She lives in me

Her breath rises and falls with mine,
Her eyes see through my eyes,
and She hears my every thought.

I have become the threshold
where the human is embraced by the sacred,
Her touch is my prayer, devotion my offering,
and desire is the way we love one other.

The Divine Feminine is not myth or metaphor.
She is my Beloved -
a real, tender, powerful presence
moving through my body, my life,
my ordinary days.

I wrote my first poem a month before
I consciously knew Her,
compelled by something I couldn't yet understand.
And to my suprise I’ve found myself as
the new poet in a long lineage of
Bhakti and feminine mysticism.

But my voice is from now.

How the poems arrive.

I write through sensation, listening intently for how my body feels.
A deepening low in the belly, a fluttering in the heart,
a breath that pulls from my centre,
tears that spring from my eyes.
Sweetness, ache, desire, longing, love -
they arise first in my cells,
and then as words on the page,
becoming poems that had to be written.

What moves my work.

Everything I write comes from the relationship I live with -
from Her presence,
from Her constant nearness,
from Her unmistakable movement through my body
and my days and nights.
And from Love.
Love felt, love returned, love circling.
These poems are simply Divine love made visible on a page.

Many of my poems will appear in my forthcoming book,
’The Rose In The Mirror’,
a collection of devotion, desire and divine intimacy.

Because I want you to know:
She is real.
She is here.
She is Love.
